Commedia del Arte, a performing arts troupe based in Mobile, Ala., is putting a new spin on live entertainment. The group performs regularly at the Museum of Mobile and on the campus of the University of South Alabama.
It was the same sound Fatima made.
"Are you alright?" I asked. She clenched her belly with one hand as she held the money in the other. She doubled over; squeezing her eyes shut. Time stopped. Fatima did not move; she stayed bent over. I could not see her breathing.

Have you seen a piece of art and thought "How is this art? What makes it display-worthy?" It is likely that you saw a piece of found art and did not even know it.
According to Clever Magazine, found art is artwork made from everyday objects taken out of one context and put into another.

Before 2006, the only football game I had ever seen was the homecoming game my senior year of high school.
It eclipsed my understanding that there could possibly be any semblance of pleasure obtained from simply watching sweaty men in skintight pants chase a ball around.

Dr. Java is now presenting "Expressive Qualities: From Within, From Without" by Sean Koger and Josh Ashley. The exhibit opened Sept. 19 and will run until Nov. 9 at Dr. Java located across from USA on Old Shell Road.
The exhibit is a unique one as works displayed by Kroger are in mediums of pastels and charcoals, and Ashley's work is mixed media.

It was a warm, spring night in 2006 when a future writer strolled down Mobile's Dauphin Street in search of her friends.
As she wove through the crowds, the vibrant rhythms of Stevie Ray Vaughn's "Pride and Joy" were blasting from Boo Radley's.
Mesmerized, she stopped long enough to peek inside the window.

I asked her what she was watching, and when she casually replied, "The Hills," the inspiration for this column rose in me with a passion unlike any other.

Downloadable content.
It can be a wonderful thing. After a game's release, the developers can continue working on certain additions that can be downloaded and applied to the game. Sometimes it is in the form of new multiplayer maps.
At other times, it comes in the form of new items, weapons or vehicles.

I remember my first Bayfest experience as if it were yesterday.
Growing up here in Mobile, I was never interested in attending the festival. I am not sure if it was just because there were never really any bands that interested me or if it was just because my parents never took me.

Because the University of South Alabama did not have a football team in previous years, homecoming was usually held during basketball season, in the spring semester.

"And the battle's just begun
There's many lost
But tell me who has won?
The trench is dug within our hearts
And mothers, children,
Brothers, sisters torn apart"
- U2, "Sunday Bloody Sunday"
On soil not our own, far from the tears of mothers and fathers, America's sons fight and die to defend a cause for a people who are not our people.

Quite frankly, I am proud to be able to say that I have never bought the global warming gimmick. It just never made much sense to me to believe that something should be done about a "crisis" for which the Earth itself is likely primarily responsible. As such, I believe that anthropogenic global warming, a term used to describe human-induced climate changes, is a "chamberpot of flim-flam," as one blogger put it.

The question of what to do about global warming hinges on three essential issues: whether or not global warming actually exists, whether or not humans caused it and the economic ramifications of doing anything about it.
Though some diehards once claimed that the Earth heating was a hoax, very few respectable people doubt it now in the face of the overwhelming evidence.
