Jaguar Productions, directed by Paula Duke, has once again put together series of events to put student activity fees to good use.

Each year in October, Jaguar Productions, in conjunction with Dr. Bob Hanks and the USA Counseling and Testing Services, promotes OktSOBERfest. For one week in the month of October, students are made aware of and invited to on-campus events that prove that it is possible to have fun without drugs or alcohol. "We look for events that are already on campus, and we plan some special events, too," said Duke.

OktSOBERfest, which began on Oct. 21 and lasts until Oct. 27, has an excellent line-up this year. The week's events kicked off with the Jags facing the Florida International Women's Soccer Team at The Cage yesterday.

The following day, Oct. 27, has two activities to offer students. At 10:30 a.m. in the Student Center Breezeway is the Know Your BACs program sponsored by the Substance Abuse Program (there will be free T-shirts at this one). At 7 p.m. on Oct. 27, the Epsilon I resident advisors are sponsoring the chugging contest "Drink 'Til You Drop!" (remember that it is a dry campus and it is OktsSOBERfest).

Oct. 23, also boasts two events. These Hands Don't Hurt, an event of displays and "mocktails," will take place in the Student Center Breezeway from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. This event is sponsored by FAB, FLC, the Sex Team and the Counseling Center. At 7 p.m., the program "Drunk Enough?", sponsored by the Beta/Gamma resident advisors, will take place at the Beta/Gamma Commons. There will be a discussion moderated by Dr. Hanks and a field sobriety test demo by the University Police.

On Wednesday, there will be a fall festival in the Student Center Breezeway from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Later that evening at 7 p.m., the Guerrilla Girls On Tour: "Feminists Are Funny" will be held in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center. The cost is $3 for students, faculty and staff, and $5 to the general public. This event is sponsored by the USA Gender Studies Program and Feminists for Progress. Jaguar Productions is hosting a haunted house in the Humanities' parking lot from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m.
