Hold on to your bananas, guys! On Oct. 24, a group of women known as the Guerilla Girls will be performing on USA's campus in order to bring awareness on gender and race discrimination. The group has performed at nearly 100 colleges and universities all over the nation. By making a scene (no pun intended) and provoking controversy, they force out the excuse of ignorance by putting the facts in your face. The program is sponsored by the gender studies program and Feminists for Progress.

Wear it:
Girls: You don't have to completely discard your favorite pair of low-rise jeans, but you can put them on the bottom of your list when putting together your next ultra chic, "night-on-the-town" ensemble! High-waist jeans are the new sensibly comfortable piece making its way down runways all over the fashion scene. If you have a surplus of money to burn, opt for the sleek pair Karen Walker designed for Elizabeth Charles, NYC ($295), but if you're "ballin' on a budget" like most college students, try Old Navy's take on the long-awaited trousers priced at a little over $20.

Guys: Gino Green is keeping the fellas sexy and stylish this fall. The hip-hop inspired clothing line continues to satisfy its loyal consumers with comfortable polo-style shirts dawning the brand's trademark logo. The shirts still come with a suggested retail price of $80, but can be bought at the sale price of $58 online at http://www.drjays.com.

This week, the YWCA of Greater Mobile, I.M.P.A.C.T., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority will be hosting a Week Without Violence activities at various locations on campus. Monday will be the Day of Acknowledgement and will feature a demonstration of The Clothesline Project. The organizations will have a booth set up in the SC Breezeway where students can draw an image that represents their own experience with violence or vision of peace; the drawings will be on display in the SC Art Gallery for the rest of the week. Tuesday will be a day to "Contemplate, Mediate and Energize." A relaxation seminar exploring alternatives to violent behavior will be held in SC room 220 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. On Wednesday, elaborate demonstrations confronting violence against both women and men will be held outside of the Student Center and in the Humanities Courtyard throughout the day. Thursday's activity will consist of a "Canvas of Hate." Large canvas boards will be posted in at the Student Center, Visual Arts Building, and Humanities Building all day. Students are encouraged to come out and express their feelings on the canvas with the provided art materials. The week will top off with a "Day of Remembrance and Personal Reflection." Members if each organization will have copies of the Peace Campaign Pledge of Non-Violence for students and faulty members to sign. Come out and make a stand against violence!

Buy it:
Girls: Think pink ladies! Do your part in the fight against breast cancer by purchasing this $2 bracelet from pay less Shoe Source. The company has agreed to donate 100 percent of the net profits to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, with a minimum guarantee of $100,000. Not only does the bracelet show your dedication to the cause, it also comes with a $5 off any purchase of $25 or more coupon.

Guys: There's a new gadget for the amateur videographer. The new SONY HDR-UXY AVDHD DVD is one the hottest big-boy toys on the market right now. Allowing you to record up to 27 minutes of HD video onto a miniDVD, this high-priced little treasure makes sharing life's unforgettable moments with others even easier. Though the editing capabilities are limited, and miniDVDs are expensive, camera what you need to capture that game winning shot, your fraternity brother using his head as a bowling ball, the birth of your first kid or any other "special" home video you want to hold on to.
