ANOTHER ACADEMIC YEAR closes here in The Vanguard office (our 42nd to be exact).
We at the publication feel that we have continued to grow each week as we pushed ourselves to keep you, the student body, informed.
There were many changes at the start of the fall semester: we went from broadsheet to tabloid format; we revamped every detail from our masthead to our bylines; we broke the Arts and Entertainment sections apart, giving rise to two new sections. The end result is a weekly publication that we are extremely proud of.
We declare ourselves a force to be reckoned with. We will not bow down to censorship. We are committed to accuracy and clarity, and we believe whole-heartedly that the campus has a right to know.
Regardless of what happens, we will get the job done.
However, there are many people who make said job considerably easier for us, and we wish to thank them for their assistance.
Much of the administration has been extremely helpful with providing us the information we need to report the news. This is no small favor, and in providing for us, you have provided for your students.
Unfortunately, our gratitude cannot be extended to all members of the administration. To those who have made things exceedingly difficult, we suggest you make a better attempt to work with the fall 2007 staff. Be forewarned, they will push all the harder.
Lastly, we would like to thank the students. Thank you for your readership. Without you, there would be no point to what we do.
Have a safe and happy summer!
