'Twilight' is Melting Your Brain

I could probably fill an entire
book with reasons why "Twilight"
is a horrible movie, but I am not
going to waste time writing about
the poorly written dialogue, the
scoff-worthy cinematography, the
cheesy special effects, or the beyond
pathetic acting.

Most critics were not overly kind to
"Terminator Salvation." I was cautiously
excited about seeing the movie. I happen
to be a big fan of the franchise, but
before I saw the film I felt it could have
gone either way -- either completely awesome,
or an epic failure.

Between summer classes and work,
many students just look at June and
July as another semester. But there
has to be some time to get away from
the monotony of your daily routine,
and what better way is there than to
get out for some live music? Dauphin
Street alone has some good acts coming
its way for June.

Summer: Hot Time for Arts

Summer is a great time to delve into the arts. Whether
opera, photography, theater, or Celtic music suits your style,
the events happening in June are numerous and varied, appealing
to every schedule, budget, and interest.
Even the unenthused would enjoy grabbing a cool drink
and strolling downtown through the LoDa ArtWalk, where
sampling music, art, food, and running into new and old
friends can happen all at the same time.

The Ugli Stick Defies Cover Band Label

As an officially licensed and registered rock star/music
prick, I am pretty much at liberty to tell you that cover
bands are not real bands. Does anyone ever say, "Hey, we
should go out, drink overpriced alcohol and watch a band
play songs that they not only did not write, but cannot even
make sound as good as the person/band/musical entity
that created the song in the first place"?
No, they do not.

I knew I'd be late. My
class was going to start
downtown in 15 minutes,
and I was still stuck
in South Beach. I adjusted
my pencil skirt and
scuttled over to stand near
a harmless-looking elderly
lady at the bus stop. She
looked aloof, eating a
Nutty Bar, which I loved
when I was a child but
wouldn't touch now.

What makes you able to give people advice on their lives?
There are very few people in this day and age that can keep
their own lives together. Let alone give advice to others.
This is not meant to be derogatory, but before a person
gives advice they should validate themselves to a point that
they can give good advice.

For many students, summertime means working on
their much-needed tans. As people become satisfied with
their bronzed bodies unafraid to wear sleeveless shirts and
shorts, they may not realize the gravity that comes from
tanning and burning one's skin.
In our society, tanning symbolizes beauty.

Furthermore, wow, are you
kidding me?! You mean out of
all of the millions and billions

your mate is the only one who
