"Nightmare Revisited" hit stores on Sept. 30 and features contemporary artists such as Amy Lee, Yoshida Brothers and Flyleaf.

It is not often when contemporary pop culture comes together in harmony to make a collaboration album that everyone can enjoy. Who knew that Korn, Flyleaf, Plain White T's, All-American Rejects, and Marilyn Manson could all be on a CD as if it were meant to be? But such is the case with the release of "Nightmare Revisited." On Sept. 30, 2008, "Nightmare Revisited" was released, featuring everyone's favorite songs from the soundtrack of Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas." The all-star track list includes the aforementioned artists and others, including Yoshida Brothers, Shiny Toy Guns, Rise Against, Amy Lee, and many more artists that bring their own unique touch to the classic tracks that, in a weird way, make everyone feel like a kid again. Personally, I saw the film for the first time in theaters last October while the movie was being shown in 3-D. I could completely understand how youthful children could come to adore the film and I could understand why many of my peers still loved the film, songs and all the childhood memories that came with them. However, I myself could not fully enjoy the film or songs being in my cynical early 20s. Yet, after listening to this album, I find myself adoring the songs and praising Tim Burton for yet another dark and heart-warming creation. As the playful songs are performed by modern artists, one is presented with more mature renditions that are fitting for the average college-aged listener. The tracks that stand out the most on this album include "This is Halloween" by Marilyn Manson, "Jack's Lament" by All-American Rejects, "What's This?" by Flyleaf, "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" by Korn, "Making Christmas" by Rise Against, "Nabbed" by Yoshida Brothers, "Sally's Song" by Amy Lee, and "Poor Jack" by Plain White T's. If you own Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas" then you have to get this album to complement and complete your collection.
